Last week I was invited along to the launch night of Evoo on Cowcaddens Road for some drinks and to sample their menu. You can find this brand new Mediterranean influenced restaurant just opposite the Theatre Royal for small bites and cocktails galore.
Here’s a rundown of everything that I got to try on the night and what I thought of it all.
Focaccia bread with white truffle oil (left) and Calabrian chilli oil (right). The truffle oil was really strong but in small doses really tasty with the fresh bread. My favourite dip, however, was the chilli oil as it had a great wee kick to it!
Herb seared tuna
Baked falafel
Cured salmon with cream cheese
Courgetti salad
House cured beetroot sea trout
Morrocan lemon chicken tagine
Sweet potato wedges
Braised pig cheeks
Mussels
Left to right: hazelnut tiramisu, chocolate and cherry brownie pistachio ice cream and Sicilian lemon tart
My top three dishes from the evening were the house cured beetroot sea trout, moroccan chicken tagine and the chocolate and cherry brownie.

All in all, it was a great night with great food and I would definitely go back with friends and family for a relaxed and friendly dining experience.
Thank you to Smash and Evoo for the invite.
